Tableflip: Added english announcement

There has been some ambiguity recently about which communication channels RandomData should use. Various needs, interests, and desires have emerged and were discussed during the last member meeting. With this document, we aim to provide more assistance and clarity. We would like to achieve this by identifying the needs we have heard and seen and explaining which channels currently meet these needs. During the member meeting on August 22nd, we also shared which channels we intend to use and explained the needs and goals central to this.

TL;DR
With this plan, we aim to bring more clarity to our communication, ensure that important information is preserved, and make it easier for both members and new people to find their way and be facilitated. We invite everyone to help with the transition so that we can make this process as smooth as possible together.

Primary Needs
* Instant Messaging – For quick communication. For example, when pizza is ordered in the space, or something short is shared/asked by anyone.
* Discussion – For longer, substantive conversations.
* Announcements, Public and for Members – To record some announcements from the board.
* Documentation – Documentation on projects or projects being done in the space.
* Social Media – Social expressions for the space that draw attention to the hackerspace.
* Facilities – Services such as a MATE payment system, LDAP for accounts, and virtual machines/data storage for projects.
For now, we are not adding any new communication channels. However, we will keep a close eye on whether different or additional needs arise in the future so that we can respond if necessary.

Feedback
Feedback on the way of communicating and the channels is welcome; feel free to let us know about any problems you encounter. We will collect all responses and discuss them in the member meetings so that it remains clear and everyone gets a chance to contribute their thoughts.

Internationale Open Hackerspace Dag 2025
On Saturday, March 29, hackerspaces across the Netherlands are opening their doors to the public – and of course, Randomdata is joining in!

A hackerspace is a creative and technical playground where curious minds come together to build projects, share knowledge, and explore new ideas. During this national open day, you’ll get a chance to experience what hacking really means and see firsthand what’s possible in a hackerspace. Hint: the only real limit is your imagination.

Everyone is welcome!** Doors open at 11:00 AM, and the daytime program runs until 5:00 PM. Some hackerspaces – including Randomdata – may remain open into the evening for extended activities. More information on

What to Expect
Here’s a sneak peek at some of the activities:

* Socialize with the friends of Randomdata
* Learn how vulnerable systems can be, and how to secure them
* Get practical tips on protecting your privacy and personal data
* Try your hand at 3D printing** or soldering
* Explore Electronics, compute power or Raspberry Pi basics

Hackers place high value on ethics. At hackerspaces, people talk about how we can improve the world by looking critically – and creatively – at technology, society, and organizations, and by sharing knowledge freely. It’s also simply a fun, welcoming (s)p(l)ace.
Location
Address
The space is located at the shared office space in Concordiastraat 68, 3551 EM Utrecht. The building can be found by its name "Concordia Creative Industries Building".

Be sure to continue to the back parking lot of the building, there you can find the red entrance that is regularly used to get into the building. We're located in room 126

Randomdata open or closed? Check the Keymasters
The space is regularly open on Tuesdays from 19:00 till 21:00, unless it is a holiday.

Besides that you can keep track on the meetup if there is any event happening at the space, like a CTF friday!

Outside of these times you can still visit the space, but only if one of the Keymasters is at the space.

Parking
There is free parking available at the space, you can park up front or in the back parking lot.

Contact information
Here you can find our contact details, the higher up in this list the more frequently the communication channel is used by the community!

Signal
At random data we like our privacy and understand how important this is. That's why we are piloting with alternative communication platforms that keeps privacy-by-design in mind and respects our privacy. One of the most common fallacies is the argument that you have nothing to hide—because everyone has something to hide. After all, you wouldn’t post your social security number online either. Right now we have a pilot running with Signal as our main communication channel. For an invite, see discord channel.

Mastodon
We have an account on Mastodon! reach us at randomdata@hsnl.nl

Mattermost
Randomdata is also active on Mattermost. This is a self hosted server by RandomData and offers an user friendly community platform to work together on space projects, gaming a security stuff and much more.

Meetup
The meetup is mainly used to track events planned by the space, but for brevity its added here as well because its possible to reach us from there, but expect a delayed response compared to other communication channels

Discord
There is a Discord available for RandomData but we aren't there much anymore, you can join it trough the link here

Legacy communication
While we do have these other methods of communication, Randomdata isn't as active on them compared to the previous section.

For clarity this section still lists these other communication channels.

WhatsApp
There was a WhatsApp community for Randomdata but we moved to Signal and our own mattermost because Meta/facebook/whatsapp is not privacy friendly. Want to know more?

Tableflip: /* Gebruiker aanmaken */ Notice toegevoegd

Inleiding

# sudo useradd -m -s /bin/bash tty1monitor # TODO: RESTRICTED SHELL OF NOLOGIN, KIJKEN OF DIT WERKT
# sudo usermod -L tty1monitor
# sudo mkdir -p /opt/monitor/{.config/btop,.fonts,bin}
# sudo chown tty1monitor /opt/monitor/

----
HOME=/opt/monitor/ <br>
PATH=/opt/monitor/bin <br>
setfont /opt/monitor/.fonts/Lat15-VGA16-braille.psf <br>
btop --tty_off ; exit
----

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/xxxserxxx/gotop/master/fonts/Lat15-VGA16-braille.psf

<br>

----
color_theme = "TTY" <br>
rounded_corners = False <br>
shown_boxes = "cpu mem net" <br>
temp_scale = "fahrenheit"
----

----
sudo ln -s $(which setfont) /opt/monitor/bin <br>
sudo ln -s $(which btop) /opt/monitor/bin
----

----
[Service] <br>
ExecStart= <br>
ExecStart=-/sbin/agetty --noissue --autologin tty1monitor %I $TERM <br>
Type=idle
----

# sudo useradd -m -s /bin/bash tty1monitor
# sudo usermod -L tty1monitor
# sudo mkdir -p /opt/monitor/{.config/btop,.fonts,bin}
# sudo chown tty1monitor /opt/monitor/

----
HOME=/opt/monitor/ <br>
PATH=/opt/monitor/bin <br>
setfont /opt/monitor/.fonts/Lat15-VGA16-braille.psf <br>
btop --tty_off ; exit
----

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/xxxserxxx/gotop/master/fonts/Lat15-VGA16-braille.psf

<br>

----
color_theme = "TTY" <br>
rounded_corners = False <br>
shown_boxes = "cpu mem net" <br>
temp_scale = "fahrenheit"
----

----
sudo ln -s $(which setfont) /opt/monitor/bin <br>
sudo ln -s $(which btop) /opt/monitor/bin
----

----
[Service] <br>
ExecStart= <br>
ExecStart=-/sbin/agetty --noissue --autologin tty1monitor %I $TERM <br>
Type=idle
----

----
HOME=/opt/monitor/ <br>
PATH=/opt/monitor/bin <br>
setfont /opt/monitor/.fonts/Lat15-VGA16-braille.psf <br>
btop --tty_off ; exit
----

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/xxxserxxx/gotop/master/fonts/Lat15-VGA16-braille.psf

<br>

----
color_theme = "TTY" <br>
rounded_corners = False <br>
shown_boxes = "cpu mem net" <br>
temp_scale = "fahrenheit"
----

----
sudo ln -s $(which setfont) /opt/monitor/bin <br>
sudo ln -s $(which btop) /opt/monitor/bin
----

----
[Service] <br>
ExecStart= <br>
ExecStart=-/sbin/agetty --noissue --autologin tty1monitor %I $TERM <br>
Type=idle
----

Welcome to Randomdata
This wiki has been created for the members of Randomdata to leave information, start-up & maintain projects, random spam, etc.<br>
THIS IS A OLD RESTORE FROM 2018!
News
Internationale Open Hackerspace Dag 2018

Zelf 3D-printen of solderen.

CTF Friday's are back!
Randomdata is all about sharing knowledge, one of the thing we like is to play online hacking games called CTF's and wargames. Therefor we have our CTF friday at the 4th friday of the month. At 18:00 we start with some food and about 19:00 we start to play CTF's. Want to join? Please register yourself to the workshop page: Workshops#CTF_friday.27s_are_back.21

ABN AMRO, get your export right!
Already know us, been there, done that and liked it? You can become a participant and help this hackerspace stay afloat. Participants get all the perks:

* Usage of all the facilities;
* An advisory voice in the decision-making process;
* The right to do all the dishes;
* A chance of working with great people

Fee

* To cover monthly costs (rent, insurance, future hardware), we ask participants for a monthly fee of €30,00. If you really, really, really can not cough up the dough, please contact the board. In exceptional cases the fee may be waived. But please do understand that the space needs money to exist in the first place.

So err, I want to join? WHAT DO I DO, WHERE DO I GO, HOW DOES IT WORK, I AM SO EXCITED OMG OMG OMG
Internationale Open Hackerspace Dag 2018

Zelf 3D-printen of solderen.

CTF Friday's are back!
At 18:00 we start with some food and about 19:00 we start to play CTF's. Want to join? Please register yourself to the workshop page: Workshops#CTF_friday.27s_are_back.21
ABN AMRO, get your export right!

ABN AMRO, get your export right!
